Harbour View Motel

The harbour view from our room was the favourite of all the places we stayed at in NZ- it was relaxing, peaceful and also rejuvenating. You could see the sunrise, sunset, the boats, the birds, the hills in the distance- and there was a lovely private deck to enjoy it all with some chairs. We even had breakfast out there! The view from the room is stunning, and that is the main reason I'd recommend this place to stay. The room facilities, kitchenware and beds are fine. We did not figure it out in the beginning, so here's a tip: in our room there was a set of blankets for sitting on the deck if the weather is cold that was kept in the chest standing close to the sofa.

My recent stay at the Harbour View Motel was an unexpected delight. Arriving after a long journey, we were prepared to settle for anything, but our host had a pleasant surprise in store for us. Upon check-in, the host initially showed us to the room I had originally booked. It was a nice room, but what truly made our stay special was when he offered to upgrade us to a room with a breathtaking view of the harbor, all at no extra charge. This unexpected gesture immediately set a positive tone for our stay. The upgraded room was nothing short of fabulous. It was notably larger than our original booking, providing us with more space to relax and unwind. But the real showstopper was the view. From our window, we were treated to a magnificent vista of the harbor, which was truly a sight to behold. Watching the changing colors of the sunset was a highlight of our stay. The breakfast at the Harbour View Motel was sufficient and reasonably priced, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes. It was a great way to start our day and fuel up for our adventures in the area. Our host at the motel had a wonderful sense of humor, making us feel welcome and at ease throughout our stay. His friendly demeanor added a personal touch to our experience and made us feel like valued guests. In terms of cleanliness, the room was spotless, and we felt comfortable and safe during our entire stay. This attention to cleanliness was especially reassuring given the ongoing concerns about health and hygiene. Overall, our stay at the Harbour View Motel exceeded our expectations. The unexpected upgrade to a room with a stunning harbor view, along with the warm hospitality of our host, made our visit memorable. If you're looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay with a picturesque view, this motel is a great choice. We would happily return in the future.

Huge unit with a great view of the water. Very peaceful. Spacious kitchen ( the first that has had a fire extinguisher ). Tons of seating options. Guest laundry and airing rack. Ross was very helpful. Great outdoor deck.

Great location and view, quiet, plenty of room I would go back to this accommodation. Owner had great local knowledge on the sights we should see we would have not taken the Train trip which ended up being a highlight. The road in was not easy.
